Golden Ginkgo Leaves

pp-2 pp-7I bought this dress for $20, and I’ve so far worn it on date night, to the beach as a cover-up (in Jamaica) and now, autumn. I’m getting better at picking pieces that will carry me throughout the seasons and I get so much satisfaction from doing this! I love practicing high/low shopping, or mid/low shopping in my case since I am far from being RICH. *Laugh*  Updated the look with knee high suede boots last worn (here), a black hoodie and knitted ballet warm-up shorts <—–  I was headed to ballet class. I even wear it as a lounge(y) robe/house dress after I shower sometimes. I mean, talk about 20 bucks well spent!  pp-4pppp-6lastedits-3Last worn  here on a care free  summer date night. As I’m typing this the wind is howling and the current temp is 34 F (1 degree C!) *Laugh*pp-5pp-3photo 1 (17)The first time I came across these trees was when I started blogging back in 2011. Since then every Autumn I drive by these streets waiting patiently for them to all turn color and carpet the streets with amber waves. I’m about a week too early. As you can tell from the pictures above, they have yet to start to “rain” down  onto the streets. That’s really what it feels like. If you get out there on a windy day, every gust produces a heavy drizzle of leaves. I hope I can make it back out there before they’re swept away.   Stay warm, and cozy.

  1. Agreed!

I LOVE the golden radiance of the Ginkgo tree leaves. The females do produce the awful, stinky berries, lol. But, I just avoid stepping on them and taking that smell home, lol and enjoy the color explosion anyway.

Their yellow backdrop is perfect compliment to the blues.

  2. Gorgeous! I’ve been dreaming of a flowy number with an exaggerated slit, maybe cotton, preferably black. lol. There is a certain pleasure that comes from wearing such a bold & beloved piece more than once! Well styled. (:
